  Dear Katrina,
I am a single mother to my teenage son who is 14 and I will be adding both you and your son to my prayers. It's not easy bringing up a son on your own but its also very rewarding. Keep placing your son in God's hands each day and night in prayer, especially how he is entering the teenage years which are so changeable as the male hormomnes kick in. You may 'butt heads' but at least he knows he has a Mother who cares and loves him deeply .He may not show his apprecation now, but you can bet he does really, for all the sacrifices and love you show and give to him daily.
I'm glad that the father is involved, even for a few days each week as something is better than nothing. At least he is getting the opportunity to get to know his father as some children never get that opportunity and it can be very hard on the, especially the son's when it comes to their Dads being there for them.
You said he feels his father doesn't love him; please point out to him this fact that some children don't even get to see their dads, ever. So at least his father is making SOME effort. It may not be what he wants, like 24/7, but like I said, something is better than nothing.
God bless and praying for you both

P.S Does your son go to church, as encouraging him and getting him involved in church activities can be a life saver, literally.
Do you have a Youth club he can go to and get to know other spiritual young people as I have found that peers can greatly influence young men especially and if they are spititual friends, they will help each other to stay on the right track.
Does he have hobbies also that will help to develop his personality, even further and make his self esteem grow i.e like learning a musical instrument.
My son is learning to play the sax right now and even though its a huge strain on the budget, it has helped him tremendously in growing his self esteem and confidence :-)

I would like to ask for prayers for my son and I. He has just turned 12 and WOW what a challenge. I know that he is going through a lot of changes in his life and being a single mom it's hard to deal with them all the time alone. His father isn't involved except for a few days every month, if that. I know my son feels like his father doesn't love him and then at times when him and I are butting heads I know he feels I am against him too. I love him more than life itself and I just want him to be happy and grow up to be a respectful young man. He is a good boy, we're just going through struggle in our relationship and we really need prayers right now.

Thank you!
Tammy
