Can you miss someone you haven’t met, a place you haven’t been?
Will hearts knit slowly, closing wounds, entwine from there within?
Has love escaped you, time afore, not rest, but fly away?
With wings of silver, never resting—“Please Love, Will you stay?”
Ask of Love, evasive tho be, to show a sign of care
To light it’s feet upon my soul, and fill me with it’s air
Beware, O soul, thou n’er knowest, if Love will go or stay
It comes in quietly to those--unaware they are it’s prey
Cautious heart of mine I have, I keep it locked away.
I want to share, I want to give, I want dear Love to say
“I’m here for you. I’ll always be a soft place for you to fall
“where ‘ere you go, you always know, I care—I’ll always call”
Dear Love, come get me when you’re ready, for I am lonely still
I want a man, a handsome man—to hold and scare the chill
From off my sheets each night at home, who’ll cradle with his arm
My head and shoulder’s, kiss my cheek, protect me from all harm
A man who find’s Love has made a nest in his heart as in mine
Who protects, provides, thinks the best—treats me as in kind
For I will cherish, love, and obey a man who honors me
I promise these and all my heart when “the one” will bend his knee
Send me Lord, a loving man, kind, obedient, and true
Who opens doors, and lifts my chin in days I just feel blue
He laughs with me, teases me, and cheers me till I’m clapping
He walks with me, and talks with me, and spoons me when I’m napping
I love this man, who e’re he is, where ever he may be
Send him Lord, across the miles to be here near to me.

A Woman's Poem!`

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
My biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do..
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked him...
Like his Mother used to do.
(Sorry Men!)
I hope you get a laugh out of this?
