Yellow mustard treats Alzheimer's, and lowers your risk of getting it. The yellow pigment may help by breaking up plaque that marks the brains of Alzheimer's patients. Curcumin, found in yellow mustard, appears to reduce deposits of beta-amyloid proteins in the brain.
A hallmark sign of Alzheimer's is the accumulation of beta-amyloid proteins in the brain. Curcumin prevents the proteins from joining and blocks formation of amyloid fibers that make up the plaques. Curcumin may be capable of treating Alzheimer's and also preventing the disease.
Curcumin is high in antioxidants, which help combat fatal illnesses, including Alzheimer's, cancer, and heart disease.
It is not yet know the dose needed to fight Alzheimer's, and if the dose would be safe in elderly patients.
