I think I would marry Joseph (that is, if he wasn't already married to Mary). He was an obedient man of God, he owned his own buisness, and he took full responsibility for a child that wasn't his and raised him as if he was his own. I would say that's a pretty wonderful guy!

Female - Age Range: 21-30
I will marry Moses. Moses was the man. He was a true man of God, who followed him where ever the Lord sent him. What woman doesn't want to follow a man of that kind of spiritual power.

Female - Age Range: 21-30
Probably Joseph. He is said to have been strong, handsome, and intelligent. That sounds like a great combination to me. He also had visions from God, so we know that he walked closely with God. The scripture also shows that he made mistakes which tells us that he was human. No matter what life threw his way he ended up where God wanted him to be.

Female - Age Range: 21-30
I'd be most interested in marrying Boaz. He was kind, considerate, took care of his family, did not embarass Ruth when she spent the night sleeping at his feet, joyfully fulfilled his duty as kinsmen-protector (I forget the correct name), was able to provide financially for Ruth and Naomi, loved God, and loved Ruth. He also seemed to be patient and gentle, in addition to being quite competent in his work. Boaz seems to me the criteria for being warm, loving, gentle, protecting, God-fearing, and capable.

Female - Age Range: 31-40
John the Beloved. I love to find a man who has such intimacy with Jesus.

Female - Age Range: 31-40
I think it would have to be either Moses who was a strong, serious man who led God's people or Joseph who demonstrated a strength of character that quite a few men don't pocess in today's society.

Female - Age Range: 31-40
My friend's answer was 'Bathsheba because she must have been a hottie'.

I would say David because he was a man after God's own heart. Of course if we marry them we don't get this hindsight view of their life. If a man answers to God then he will be good to me.

It's amazing to me that this man after God's own heart - even he - had major bad behavior that we (me too) don't seem to think are forgivable (as far as choosing a mate). I had long determined that I would never even date a man if he had previously cheated on a spouse. David did this and murder. Isn't life confusing.

Female - Age Range: 31-40
Hi Everyone

I had to think hard about this one.

The Bible is honest about the good and bad points of people. It tells it, like it is. So, after much careful consideration, I don’t think I’d really like to marry a Bible character.

WHY?

I thought about Enoch, but I don’t want my husband to disappear one day. Moses, can’t control his temper. Paul, always in prison, travelling, or writing those letters. David and Solomon, major problems with other women. Peter too arrogant. Eli, the minister can’t control his kids again! Daniel, too busy with matters of state to be around for friends. Thomas, I’d spend all my time trying to make him believe me. Joshua, always away from home, fighting in some battle. Abraham, wants me to have a child and he's 100 years old, don't think so! John, stranded on that island, good for the tan, but I’d miss my folks back home. Joseph too spoilt and too many nightmares, I'd never get to sleep. Jonah, much too hard and unforgiving. Samson, wise in his own eyes, always ignoring advice. Elijah and Elisha, always on the run from the authorities. The list goes on and on.

No. My ideal man would be Commander Data from Star Trek. He’s cute, intelligent, eager to learn and polite. He has perfect recall. He is both physically and mentally strong. He’s honest, reliable and really good at coping in a crises. He is funny and musical. He likes animals, (he's so good with his cat SPOT!). He’s a hard worker. He’s a good friend. He has a huge heart for others and respects his family, especially his grandpa. He is innocent and childlike in so many ways, but all MAN. He's a good conversationalist, a fantastic listener and he never gets tired. He isn’t afraid to show his vulnerability, (which is so sweet in a man) and he’s not a chauvinist. The best thing is: if he gets on your nerves - you can always head for his master button - and switch him off.

Yep. Lieutenant Commander Data is my ideal man. Always there when you need him. But switch offable. ON/OFF. ON/OFF. ON/OFF.

ABSOLUTE BLISS!

Female - Age Range: 31-40
If I could marry any Bible character, I'd have to say it would be Joseph, because not only was he deeply spiritual, intelligent and FINE as all get out, but I imagine that he was an incredibly faithful man. I don't know ANY man that would respond to a sexual proposition the way he did. The fact that he RAN from Potipher's wife and remained steadfast to his commitment and love for the Lord makes him a true 'hottie' in my book, not to mention extremely desirable! Where on earth are the 'Josephs' of today?!!!

Female - Age Range: 31-40
Elijah. He believed that God could do anything and he boldly asked Him too! When he stood in front of all those prophets of Baal -- WOW, what a courageous man!! His life is such an inspiration to me. Not only was he strong and sure, but he also had a tender and vulnerable side. When I read how he prayed for a miracle from God and God granted it, it seems like he is perhaps so 'spiritually' out of my league and yet James 5:17 says he was a man just like us. It gives me hope that I can pray that way too.

I would like a man to be strong in his faith and very knowledgable about God - just like Elijah. I would like him to be courageous and bold and yet I would like him to have a tender side too. An overbearing, 'it's my way or the highway' kind of guy is just NOT attractive.

Female - Age Range: 31-40
If I could marry a Bible character, it would definitely be Jospeh, becase he was a man of integrity, who suffered long and hard, yet he still remained faithful to his God. Therefore, he would remain faithful to his wife and family. Joseph had every opportunity to take matters in to his own hands, and I believe the incident with Potiphar's wife, would have been 'the last straw' for some of us. According to Genesis Ch. 39 v 10 day by day she was after him to sleep with her. Tell me, how many men including, saved that would run away from the women who are after them, only to kill their dream. Every man knows the type of woman he has including Potiphar. He believed his wife when she said that Jospeh tried to rape her and he put Jospeh in prison. Jospeh remained faithful and eventually married and became the King of Egypt at only 30 years old. My God, what a man!

Female - Age Range: 31-40
I'd probably have to choose David. Why? Because even though he made a lot of mistakes, he was still considered 'a man after God's own heart'. What more could you wish for?

Female - Age Range: 41-50
U may use my alias. Boaz, or the Apostle Paul; Boaz, because i am new to the church and feel quite different than alot of the women in the SDA church because of my idolotrous backround; but Paul, since I have felt the call to be an evangelist who travels some.

Female - Age Range: 41-50
he would have to be like moses because he did what god told him to do until the end of his time

Female - Age Range: 41-50
Hosea--What obedience to God!

Nannette: Female - Age Range: 41-50
If I were to marry a Bible Character, he'd have to be like:

Adam: because he'd like to work out in the garden with his Eve.
Moses: because he'd require a lot of patience with me.
Jacob: because knowing how to cook would be required.
Boaz: because he'd love me and accept me.
Solomon: because he'd need to know how to say romantic things.
Daniel: because he'd need to be a vegetarian and be concerned with his health.
Enoch: because he'd need to walk with God.
Samson: because being strong would be nice.
Hosea: because he'd have to be able to accept my past mistakes.
Jethro: because he'd need common sense in business management.
Luke: because having a medical background would be helpful to take care of our family.
Malachi: because returning tithes and offerings is important.
Noah: because he should be handy around the house and able to build things.
Job: because he was very patient with his nagging wife.
Paul: because he should be a spiritual leader in our home and conduct great family worships.
Joseph: because he should flee temptation.

But wait! God did give me all those gifts in my husband, Larry! Thank you Lord for making strong Christian men today!

I WOULD LIKE TO MARRY A BIBLE CHARACTER BASED ON PROVERBS 31:23.

Thank you

God Bless you.

Female - Age Range: 41-50
If I could marry any Bible character I would marry the apostle Paul. He was such a amazing man of God, but before he was a murderer (killing christians for his beliefs before he met Jesus on the road to Damascus)he had amazing convictions, he struggled with the old sin nature in him, but glory to God he was transformed when the Holy Spirit showed him the reality of Adam within him Romans 6-7.
Having been transformed he goes on to write the book of Philippians an amazing book on thanksgiving and praising God in every situations. He was an amazing missionary with a heart for the lost. He loved the Jews and he loved the people of God. For the time that he lived in, with the Romans in power, he had no fear of the government but he gave them honor. All in all Paul was a very rounded man because he had a true relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a real gentleman a wonderful man of God

Female - Age Range: 41-50
There are a lot of Bible characters to choose from. He would have to have the qualities that Jesus tells husbands to exhibit. 'Love your wives, don't treat her harshly. Dwell with her in understanding. Don't commit adultery against her. Discipline the children she bears with love & godliness. Don't withhold love from her. Don't forsake her. Honor her. Lay your life down for her.' Wow, Jesus sure has placed great value on a woman. In that case, I'd marry Jesus. Oh wait... I already AM His bride! Praise the Lord!

You may use my alias. I know John the Baptist wasn't the marrying type. But I like his style. Really serious about the things of God and not afraid to say what's right and stand up for God's word, even if it had dire consequences. 'Easy going' is not on my list of what makes a man attractive to me!

I think I would like to marry Boaz. Reason being, he was compassionate, learned in the law and knew beauty when it came up and layed at his feet. Simple and sweet.

You may use my alias.: My choice would be Daniel or one of his three bosom friends. They were steadfast and unmovable from the principles of God's word. I could love a man like that.

If I could be married to a Bible character, I would choose David. I weep whenever I read Psalms. He has such passion and love for the Lord. He's also an excellent orator, and very brave, yet knows he needs the Lord's strength when times get rough. If he were my husband, I know I would be thoroughly and tenderly loved, and protected. He would be my best friend - my second half.

Female - Age Range: 41-50
Jesus....I couldn't have a more PERFECT husband. A man who knew Love beyond any measure. He was gentle, compassionate, strong, full of wisdom, positive and confident. You never had to ask Him if He loved you. He made sure every day to express the foundation of His very existance....that was Love. You couldn't ask for more....

Female - Age Range: 41-50
You can use my alias. If I were given the opportunity to marry a Bible person, it would definitely have to be my Saviour, Jesus Christ. I need His understanding, compassion, and patience along with His unconditional, committed love. He would not leave me or cheat on me. He would help me to be all that I can be in Him. As He helps me, I will be enabled by Him to love Him back and make Him happy. It would have to be Jesus.

You may use my alias. There are so many Bible characters to choose from and the usual ones automatically appear at the top of the list. King David, Samuel, Joseph, Moses, other great leaders with flawless, and some horribly flawed reputations. The one character that intrigues me with his audacity is Habbakuk. He had the courage to dare to ask God the ultimate 'Why me?' question, expect an answer, and stand there waiting even when he knew he might get zapped for asking. Finding that ultimate answer, the ultimate quest for integrity and truth, was more important than his own comfort. He had the courage to rattle the gates of heaven and stand ready to face the consequences. His reward was the explanation for the plan of salvation, 'The just shall live by faith.' God honored his audacity. I can relate to that a lot better than I can relate to kingdoms, rulers, or ship wrecks. I would have been very intrigued by Habakkuk. I think he would have understood my own occasional audacity and need to ask 'Why?' After all, why did God allow the ability to ask questions unless He was willing to answer them?

Female - Age Range: 51-60
Jesus........I adore and Love HIM so...I would marry Jesus...if He would have me?

Female - Age Range: 51-60
I would have to say Joseph! What a godly character he was - true to God even with unbelievable temptations and such discouraging circumstances he was thrown into.

JoshK: Male - Age Range: 21-30
You may use my alias. Unfortunately the selection of female characters is a little more limited... but if I had to choose one, it would probably be Deborah, who was actually Isreal's leader and judge, which means she was probably a very intelligent and interesting person.

Male - Age Range: 31-40
Probably Eve, (if there was no Adam) she defiled the entire humanity and history and brought Jesus to the cross but there was no record of adultery.

Also, there was a sacrifice for them in Genesis 3:21
:)!!!

If I could marry any Bible character I would hope most of all it would be the one God had chosen just for me. Never really gave it much more thought than that.

Male - Age Range: 41-50
The Bible character that I think would be the best match for me is Rebakah, wife of Issac. I see myself in character similar to Issac, and I think a 'Rebekah' would bring virtues that I would appreciate and need. Hopefully, were I to marry such a person, the history of the biblical Issac and Rebekah will help us avoid the mistakes in life they made.
