Do you look younger or older than others your age?
A few of our members don't want to put their age because they feel they look much younger
than their age. My response is, "Dont' we all?" I used to want people to think I was 10
years younger than I actually was and would joke that I was only 36, but then when I got my
driver's license renewal photo,
I thought, "Well, they can think I'm a very old looking 36 year old, or a very young looking 46
year old. I'd rather have the latter." So our survey question this week is, When
you compare yourself to others your age, do you feel you look older, younger, or your age?

My alias is msmaria80. I feel that I look younger than other people my age. If you saw me on the street, you would never thought that I was 24 years old. When I am work, (I work in a clothing store) customers think I am a shopper instead of an Assistant Manager of the store. I don't mind people thinking that I am younger than I am. As the quote above says, I rather look like I am younger than what I am than look older than what I am.

I have been told on a consistant basis that I do not look my age. I don't think that this is really true, but I do appreciate the compliments. I have had a younger cousin get me into a movie at one time....(about 8 years ago). However, this does make it somewhat difficult for me in the dating area. For all who may read this post and wonder about Princess Re and my age: I quote, 'Princess Re is a grown woman. Born in 1971-really, I was!'

Let's see, when I compare myself to others I feel as though I look quite young. Actually, meeting people in real life, they often mistake me for being in my 20's (I'm in my mid-30's). As for posting of ages on this site, I think it is necessary, especially for me. Too many people would think that I'm too young for them when I'm not!!!!

Well In many way's I get alot of people thinking I am around 28yr's and it's difficult actually meeting people my age 38yr's.I don't know if it's because of my size and appreance.
I am very mature in my communication.And relate well with much older people because I gain there insite and wisdom.

I look older than others of my age. I have always looked older than my real age, partly because I inherited my mother's eyes that have a tendency to form creases when I smile. I also inherited my father's lower face, with the tendency to form strong smile lines on the sides of the mouth. I like my face just the way it is, but I realize that I look older than I really am. I can live with that so long as I don't date guys who are younger than I am, who might pressure me to go out of my way to look younger.

I do not look like the other women who are in my age range. But not looking our age runs in my family with respct to the women. However i do not look like a 'Young' women either! Nor do i dress like one. But, i do not dress like and women in the winter of life! I feel what keep you young and young looking is whats in your heart! Genitics to play a roll. But have you ever looked at a really happy,peaceful person? They are comfortable in their own skin. Comfortable with who they are and were they are going. That is real youth mixed with wisdom! :)

Do you feel you look older, younger or your age when you compare yourself to others your age? This is a good question that I would like to know myself. When I look at photos of some people who don't indicate when their photo was taken, it's hard to tell if I look older, younger or my age. So just a suggestion here for those people who don't indicate when their photo was taken 'please let us know the date your photo was taken'. I have done this with my profile in the story book section. I'm not saying that looks are everything, however they are important to some people. What's in the heart is important as well. After all, would you like to be corresponding with someone who you thought had the qualities you were looking for, only to find out that their picture was taken 10 years ago?

I have been told repeatedly by both men and women, that I don't look my age. Sometimes people think I am kidding with them, when I tell them I am 44, I love it! I don't mind telling my age, if that is all that is important to the person, then I would rather not correspond with them anyway. Besides, I want to meet someone close to my age, if they didn't know my age, it would be a guessing game, and I don't like games.

I think I look younger than 45 (surprise surprise) because I do tend to compare myself to other women my age and because everyone's mouth drops open when I tell them my age. I'm actually OK with telling my age. However, I do think men my age probably would like to be with a younger woman. Right now, men in their 50's seem to be coming my way. That's OK as long as they look younger than that! Hey, look at Harrison Ford. Oops, bad example, he's with a 20 somthing year old, the old DOG. I prefer men alittle older; it makes me feel younger!

We celebrating birthdays at my work place and one of my colleage asked me how old I was. I told him my real age but he did not believe in me. He told me he thought I was in the early 30's. What a compliment! People always tell me I look younger than my age. I am young at heart.

I definately look younger than my age, or at least that is what I am told over and over again. Most people are surprised when I tell them how old my girls are because they say I don't look old enough to have children that age. I was 25 when my oldest one was born. I am now 51 and she is 26. I love to visit the girls in college because everyone there thinks that I am one of the college students. When I am out with one of them others, who do not know us well, think we are sisters. I love it and so do they. I don't mind being a young looking 51 year old nor do I mind others knowing my true age.

I defintely look younger than most people my age. In fact my younger friends talk about people my age as if they're old never knowing that I'm in the group they're referring to.
Of course on the other hand I've been given the senior citizen discount, so go figure. I think that often your carriage, your apparel and what's in your heart helps to determine how young or old you look.

I am constantly told that I don't look my age. As a matter of fact just recently I went bowling with a couple of my girlfriends and requested the senior citizen rate. I was required to show my drivers license because the guy didn't believe that I was over the age of 55. Needless to say that made my day.

I feel that I look and act younger than most people my age and therefore have been dating men younger than myself because they assume that I am alot younger and ask me out. Beauty can be both a blessing and a curse. No one wants to be loved because of their outward appearance and/or the money/sucess they might have become, but because of who you are on the inside where it counts.

People are always shocked to know my age. They think I am at least 10 years younger. I am often told I look younger than my 49 year old sister and she's had a facelift. I think it is walking with the Lord for so long that has kept me happy and healthy and young looking as well as young at heart.

Everyone tells me that I look younger than my age, but I think I look very old. A few years back I started seeing my mothers face when I looked in the mirror. Just last week I saw my grandmothers face. Wow! That makes me feel pretty old, but in my mind I am much younger than I am and much younger than I look. It's not what we look like, it's who we are that matters. God loves us at any age, and if we love Him we will never grow old, because we have eternity to spend with Him in our new bodies. I wish we would hurry up and get His word out to all the nations so Jesus can come in the clouds of Glory and we can meet Him in the air. Oh what a day that will be. God bless you all.

I dont look 66, because I have 'NO GRAY' (it is not dyed either...my grandmother died when she was over 100 and still had most of her dark hair) hair and I'm so much more active then people my age......so maybe the age thing should be left blank...or...if you think of another way of wording it..like...66 but act and look 56?????

Well, my parents are both blessed with looking young for their age. I attribute that to 1)never smoking 2)vegetarianism and 3)lucky genes. My dad was actually happy when he got a few gray hairs - an asset in the professional world, he claimed, were sometimes a little respect is what you need.
As for myself, I know that at least in the past my age has been underestimated. Once when I had just gratuated in 1998 I struck up a conversation with an old friend of the family I hadn't seen since childhood. I mentioned I had just graduated and she, much to her subsequent chagrin, asked me if I was planning to go to college! Trying not too laugh too hard, I gently let her in on a 'little secret': the graduation I had just mentioned WAS, in fact, my College graduation, not high school!
But that faux little-boyishness is now slightly obscured by a bit of 'extra padding,' as they say. Hopefully I can lose it before I turn thirty in a couple years.

UnfortunatelY, have started aging,getting more n more gray hairs, as I ve stayed up late, n been concerned for a frend I felt was makin a terrible mistake, bbut I can still remember one time a few years ago back in 95 or 96 when a employee of an eyeglass place told the lady I was with ,Your son will be out soon! hehe n she was the same age as me or just 1 or 2 years difference!!

Yes, looking younger than your age can be good and not so good. I am 46 and most times can pass for 26. Well 30. This is problem for me because meeting anyone my age do not work unless they know me some how, by friends, family etc.
I can meet someone 15-20 years younger and go on without saying my age is easy. If they ask, (OH NO). 'WHAT, you are.........) what could someone do about that. Oh, when I did find someone my age, around 40. They want me to not wear any jeans, grow back my facial hair and so on.
I am a referee that need not to have any facial hair, I am fit – play basketball, in-door roller-skate, beach volleyball, cycling. Well, these things have always kept me in shape.
I am OK, married for 20 years to a woman my age and look as young as I am, but this person needed someone to look older. Well, a divorce took place and that’s the end of my story.

I definitely look younger than my actual chronological age. This is due to several physical characteristics that people take cues from regarding a person's age.
Number one is my body build - I'm blessed with a slim, muscular physique. I'm not an athlete by any means, but my height to weight ratio is very good. No beer belly, flabby thighs, lose cheeks, or fat neak on me. This comes from working hard and staying active all my life. I wear exactly the same clothes and belt sizes as I did when I was 18.
Next is my hair line and color. Look at pics from my academy and college days and pics taken just a few months ago. No difference other than a mustashe!
The last thing is my demeanor. I'm a teacher, so I'm around young people all day. I have the same light hearted manner of speaking and acting as they do. This shows up in the facial expression I have in my picture.
By the way, young people are notoriously hard to fool regarding an adult's age. However, NONE of my students ever come even close to guessing my true chronological age. They usually place me in my mid thirties as opposed to my late forties. Am I thankful for that? Yes!!! But I also want to say something else on this topic.
I DO feel like a LOT of women discriminate against good men simply because they don't fall into a certain age range. The chronological age of a woman isn't nearly as important to me as her outlook on life and how well she has taken care of herself physically. We ALL age in this world. Some of us just do it more gracefully than others.

Nearly everyone I meet is very surprised to learn that I am at least 10 years older than they expected.
So the one word answer to the question would be 'younger.' A better question, (and maybe it is already being planned as a 'follow-up' survey), would involve some application of 'age appearance' to how someone goes about achieving their goals on this site.

I have always looked young for my age but in the last few years the gap has shrunk until now I look bout the same as others my age.But other people tell me it is the way I walk and carry myself that makes me look younger plus my personality is younger,I act younger.
